Adventure without the Tornado!

Excursions are planned on Thursday afternoon with a tour of the Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Plant as well as on Friday morning with the Sketchbook Brewery Co. Tour. In years past, we’ve visited Devon’s Desi corridor and the Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory, enjoyed a wine and olive oil tasting, created stained glass works-of-art, shot guns, blown glass, enjoyed ethnic cooking classes, and visited architectural gems. Our coördinator can also provide you with information for a self-guided walking tour if you wish to venture into the city. If you have signed up for the Vanilla Plant Excursion and cannot attend, please notify the Excursion Coördinator../images/email-regular.s.gif ASAP so someone on the waitlist can enjoy the tour.

Return of the Masseuses!

Exhausted? Stressed? Worn out from your travels? There will be three massage therapists to do chair massages during WeeM. They will be cash only, $15 for a 15 minute chair massage.

Over the Rainbow! Book A Room Now.

We continue to be excited about the venue. The Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel in Wheeling has a lot to offer. It hosts other events we know of with comparable size and similar people, and we have worked with some of their senior staff as well as the people behind the scenes who do an amazing job helping us volunteers to keep things running smoothly. The hotel room block is set up and ready for your reservations. Problems with reservations may be forwarded to The Hotel Liaison../images/email-regular.s.gif for timely resolution.

Won't someone think of the Munchkins?

Bring the kids! Chicago has been working with several dedicated volunteers to create a kids' track at our functions. We've ironed out the details during our Monthly Business Meetings during the year and are pleased to offer you and your kids a wide variety of activities throughout the WeeM weekend. Babysitting will be offered during certain events, and WeeM speakers will deliver programs tailored for the kids.

The Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and Tinman All Volunteered! How About You?

You may not see them, but you see what they do. Volunteers are the caretakers of our amazing, four-day event! They earn collectible WeeM pins and entries into the Volunteers' Raffle. They are adored by WeeM munchkins, and are protected from evil spells from the Wicked Witch of the West. The Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Tinman all pitched in to help Dorothy and you can do the same for WeeM. So why not volunteer now?

Help The Economy!

Check out the Shopping offerings that you can can expect at WeeM, including WeeM logo items you can order now, and our annual book sale to benefit our Gifted Youth program! Bring your own books that are just taking up room and collecting dust, and allow us to sell them for this charitable cause.
