West Suburban Games & Conversations 7 PM. Usually every 2nd Saturday of the month (however, moved to Dec. 1 so that it won't conflict with the Monthly Meeting). Find out what games you want Santa to put in your stocking. Some drinks (sodas) & munchies provided, however a munchie donation is appreciated. Call hosts on day of event to RSVP and for directions. Non-smoking event, one friendly cat.

7/Friday

First Fridays/Mensa Christians 7 PM. Join fellow believers for dinner and friendly (John 13:35), informal and not generally theological conversation. Nondenominational, but decidedly christological. We meet at The Grill, a restaurant on the ground floor of the North Shore Doubletree at 9599 Skokie Boulevard (the corner of Skokie Blvd. and Golf Rd., kitty-corner from Old Orchard shopping center). Reservations are not required but are encouraged, as the restaurant can get crowded.

Monthly Meeting at Sheraton Chicago Northwest, 3400 West Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights.

Second Saturday Coffeehouse 8 PM. to experience Emile Ferris' multimedia performance of poetry and short fiction. This follows an open-mike opportunity (7:30 sign-up, share your musical and spoken word talents - all acoustic). $5 cover. This takes place at The Ethical Humanist Society, 7574 N. Lincoln Ave. in Skokie. Phone the event coordinator for more information.

Way Out West (WOW) Second Sunday Brunch 10:30 AM. Join us at Delaney's Restaurant off I-39, second exit south of I-80, Oglesby. For further information, contact the event coordinator.

Northwest Suburban Dinner On Thursday (DOT) 7 PM. DOT invites you to join the celebration at Buca di Beppo, 604 N. Milwaukee, Wheeling 847-808-9898. This family-style feast includes appetizers, entrees, desserts, soft drinks, tax and tip for one all-inclusive price (alcoholic beverages are extra). Optional GRAB BAG gift exchange. Check out thrift stores, the dollar store, consignments shops and your basement for white elephants because the grab bag gift limit is $2. December Mensa birthdays will be celebrated. RSVP recommended if you want to sit at the Big Tables. Contact the event coordinator.

14/Friday

Women In Mensa (WIM) 7 PM. Our casual chats are mostly related to careers, stock portfolios, travel, real estate investments, and women's health care issues. We meet in the lobby of the Radisson Hotel dining room, at 4500 Touhy, Lincolnwood. Food from the coffee house menu is available in the dining room, but the conversation and networking take precedence over the food. Reservations are a must or you may find that we have gone somewhere else for the night.

15/Saturday

Conservatives Lunch NOON. Join other members of the Mensan cell of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy for lunch and secret planning at QQ Chinese Buffet, 579 Roosevelt Rd. in Glen Ellyn. QQ Buffet is in the Market Plaza Shopping Center between Park Blvd. and Main St. $8.00 for all you can eat (includes beverage and dessert). Ask for the Conservatives Lunch group. RSVPs appreciated. Open to non-Mensans; bring a conservative friend. For more info, contact the event coordinator.

South Bend Dinner 6 PM. Contact the event coordinator for location information.

Chinese on Saturdays 6 PM. at Lao Sze Chuan House, 1331 Ogden Ave. in Downers Grove. The restaurant is on the south side of the street, a few blocks west of Main St. Come for good food, good conversation and somewhat warped humor. Each month we have a reading of a Darwin Award, News of the Weird, or something similar. Please RSVP by noon so the event coordinator can notify the restaurant.

MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000) Night 7 PM. Please join us for Mystery Science Theater. We will enjoy cartoons, B-movies and funny experiments in St. Charles. Contact the event coordinator for directions and more information.

Western Movies evening. Get together for a Saturday film -- it won't be a western, but it will take place in the western suburbs (maybe Yorktown, or Marcus Addison, or the Glen). We'll see well-reviewed current film, and those who wish can gather for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Contact the event coordinator for film, time and location.

17/Monday

BABL (Beverly Area Book Lovers) 7 PM. We will meet at Walker Library, 11071 S. Hoyne. Informal conversation, any topic, foreign languages frequently mentioned, a literal library of books at hand. Advance reservations optional but appreciated, due to possible last-minute changes. For more information, contact the event coordinator.

Near West-Southwest (WSW) Mensans 6:30 PM. This month, we enjoy Mexican food at Casa Margarita, 32 S. LaGrange Rd. in downtown LaGrange. Reservations are not required, but please contact the event coordinator so he can give the restaurant fair warning.

27/Thursday
